Hey, um-- I don't know if anybody's told you about breaches yet, or what going overboard means in ports, but I'm sorry I was chasing you and trying to hurt you; I wasn't in my right mind. You come out of that okay?
At their appointed meeting time, Quentin turns up in the library, carefully bearing a couple of coffee cups from the dining hall. He skitters past the desk- not totally aware of how librarians here feel about food and drink inside- and ducks into his favourite study room to go hide his loot, before sticking his head back out to hunt for Hickey.
Says Quentin, cheerfully, offering him the coffee cup by way of greeting- then pausing.
"Actually, one of these is black and one of these has milk and sugar, which would you prefer? I'll drink either. You know I used to teach? Years ago now, but I remember it being kind of fun."
[Tesla is... not often in the habit of caring for people. Not past anything that would be required of the pairing system, and to be perfectly honest he's not entirely sure if he cares about Hickey as a person or is just... somewhat concerned about the fact that he seems more than a little stab-happy.
Either way, he knocks on Hickey's door a couple of days after things settle back into normal for the Barge, a bottle of wine in hand and... waits, mostly.]
[ Hickey is very put out about the animal flood. As far as he's concerned, the Admiral making him be something so weak and disgusting as a rat is him making a statement. So when he hears the knock on his door, he scowls as he opens it, not really wanting to deal with anyone who'll even think of mentioning that flood...
...and that expression of sheer anger only lingers for a moment before he smooths it into something a bit more neutral. No badly handled rage here, just Hickey, giving Tesla a nod. ]
Jedao knocks on Hickey's door in a sleek black uniform with gold trim, with fingerless black gloves and a shadow that doesn't match the shape of the rest of him, something small and angular and animal, something with too many - limbs? Tails?
Hickey is instantly suspicious. Not because of Jedao's shadow, no that's being filed away as 'weird Barge shit.' But because he doesn't know this man from Adam and he's pretty sure 'I heard you like cards' is just a pretext for 'I'm going to start up some awful conversation that I would like to force you though.'
Well. Might as well get it over with.
"Hickey, yeah. Not sure I got your name, though. You can tell me it while I shuffle the deck."
[ There's a piece of paper slipped under the door of Hickey's cabin. It's handwritten. Or...at least it has indications that it's handwritten. The letters are written so neatly it looks as though it was printed by a press. Each letter is perfect. But it's also written in pen.
The top of the paper has the title of "Modern Technology around the Barge". And there are a few brief written explanations of certain areas of the barge and technology they contain. This beginning primer is the basics! Surely, there is more to come. ]
I have a large stash of dried goods and frozen goods, properly contained and maintained, should public supplies run out. I'll let you look through them if you want.
Oy. Just wanted to let you and a few other people know that there's someone on this ship who can mimic me and probably others. Found him beating up on Dorian wearing my face.
So if we see each other, maybe it's best if we come up with a code word, or you ask me a question that only I'd know the answer to.
"After all the care I'd taken to dress for you," he huffs, placing his hands on Hickey's chest so that the other man can begin to tackle his waistcoat and cravat.
"I'll put you back together afterwards," Hickey laughs. "You can preen and parade for me then."
Because begin to tackle his waistcoat and cravat Hickey does. He starts to unbutton Crozier's waistcoat before moving his hands towards the man's neck. "Reach over to the side table," he says. "There should be a little bottle over there. After I get you undressed, you're going to give me that bottle and I'll take you like a girl."
They're going to actually fuck tonight. Not mutual acts of service. Who knows when Hickey will see Crozier next, he's going to make this a night that neither of them will forget.

Kiryu mentioned you and I should meet.

Let me guess: Pagan Min?
Doesn't surprise me that Kazuma mentioned me to you. I suspect the man's going to take up a lot of my attention until he gets another employee.
[ also, guess who has no clue how Japanese name order works and has been calling Kiryu by his first name for ages, THIS GUY ]
